About Me

My name is John.

I’m a Scottish self-taught artist and illustrator. I studied Mechanical Engineering at Aberdeen University, which turns out isn’t remotely useful when pursuing the kind of art I am interested in making.

I created this site to highlight some of the things that fall out of my brain onto a page or canvas. You’ll find various illustrations, drawings, comics, and sketches here. You can buy most of them as prints. I have enjoyed making them and I hope you will love owning them so you can think about me every day, or force someone else to.

I predominantly work in digital media but dabble in pencil drawing, charcoal, oils and acrylics.

Oh, oh, and I do commissions! I’ve worked on pet, people, and places portraiture and have also produced commissioned art for publications.

I’m geeky and silly and find myself drawing, or thinking about drawing, whenever I get the chance. I also enjoy reading, swimming, hill walking, cooking and eating lovely things, and I watch a lot of movies.
