Mash up of The Wilhelm Scream and The Scream!

The ‘Wilhelm Scream’ is an iconic stock sound effect that has been used in many films, television programs and other media, originating in the 1951 film Distant Drums around the 45 minute mark when an unnamed background soldier gets attacked by an alligator. Research suggests that Sheb Wooley, best known for his 1958 novelty song “The Purple People Eater” is likely to have been the voice actor who originally performed the scream.

The Scream is an art composition created by Norwegian artist Edvard Munch in 1893.
